    Tax return for H1B and H4 - 2011
    Hello.

My husband and I have arrived in California on October the 4th (2010)from France.
    My husband has a H1B and I have a H4 (I don't have any incomes).
    I don't have a SSN.

So we are non resident, How can we proceed ?
Do I have to ask for a ITIN independently ? How ? Am I a dependent for my husband ?
We had a prime for relocation (12.000$), do we have to put it with the wages ?

    Thanks for your answers.

The $12,000 MAY be taxable. It should be addressed on your husband's W-2.

You may want to file jointly and declare ALL world-wide income for 2010, or you may your husband to file by himself and pay taxes ONLY on the U.S.-sourced income. You need to model the return BOTH ways.

If you do file jointly, you will submit the Form W-7 with the tax return to get you an ITIN.

If you need professional help to file, email me at [email protected]; this is what I do!
