You really need to look into the individual university you are applying to. I'm sure things are different in every area, but all of the ones in my area are so impacted that many schools are only accepting fall applications and applying in summer or spring isn't even an option. And for the school I just applied to, they're so packed that they've narrowed it down to giving students who are transferring from community colleges in the same county. And then after country residents the state residents get priority and then finally out of state residents.

Well the school I applied to is Florida State, they definitely offer a summer term.

I didn't say that schools aren't offering summer terms. But, many of the schools in my area are not accepting summer or spring applications. The only way to take classes in the spring or summer is if you applied and were accepted and enrolled in the fall term and continue on in the spring or summer. So, like I said, you need to talk with the individual school. Every school has an admissions office and counselors to help you make these decisions. Call them. Or if going in person is an option, go in and talk to them.

If a summer term is offered when you apply for the university then they are obviously accepting applications for summer, other wise there would only be a fall term to pick from like a lot of schools only have.

Well, if you know it all then why are you here wasting out time asking?

If there was no warning when you were applying that they weren't accepting applications for anything other than fall term, than they probably are accepting applications for other terms. The application I filled out still had the boxes to check for summer and spring terms but there was a warning the page before that applications for anything other than fall weren't being accepted. And many schools offer summer terms. But, I'll say again, CHECK WITH THE INDIVIDUAL SCHOOL YOU ARE APPLYING TO. Talking with the school is the only way to find out more about when it is best to apply and increase your chances of being accepted, aside form meeting or exceeding all of their qualifications for applying.

Ok... calm down, my question wasn't even if they were accepting summer applications because I know that they are THROUGH THE SCHOOL.

Then my advice is the same as it has been the entire time. You should talk to the school about when it's best to apply. An admissions counselor will be able to tell you that. They'll also be able to tell you if being an in state resident will have any influence. I've told you that in ever answer-talk to the school.
