    Maytag fridge/freezer frost inside
Ok so this is probably a dumb question, but I'm going to ask anyway. I have a maytag fridge on top freezer on bottom. The coldest temp setting for both is 7. My fridge is at 4 and my freezer is at 5. I live in southeast Texas so the weather is up and down. One minute it's cold, next minute it's 70. Plus it's quite humid here too, and it's been raining the last couple days... have no idea if the weather matters but thought I would throw that in there. So anyway, in the back of the fridge there is a vent looking thing and there is some ice/frost on it... looks like snow. So what should I change the settings too? I usually keep the manuals in a file, but can't find it.

Not sure what a vent looking thing is but if it is frosting up it is most likely because the defrost timer motor has failed. Changing the setting won't help.
What is the model number (should be on the door or door frame).

Hey I just noticed you answered my question. Well, it seems to be working fine now. It's only 6 months old. Sorry I don't know how else to explain it. I think part of the problem may have been my husband was cooking and he's kind of wild in the kitchen when he cooks, and he had the doors open for a long time. He's a really good cook though so I can't complain!
