We had a power cut recently and ever since, none of the heating areas work on our unit. None of the elements (ceramic top) work, nor does the oven itself... on any setting. The oven light and clock work fine. I have checked (and replaced) the 15AMP fuse and that is fine. This unit is 5+ years old. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I'm confused. At first it sounded like you were talking about a heat pump not working. Then it sounds like you are talking about a stove. Maybe its both. Reset main breaker on circuit breaker panel. If that doesn't work, call the power company. One half of you service is out.

Seems like if there is something that controls those two areas of the unit, that thing has stopped working.
The 120V elements work be cause one half of your service is working. You have two 120V lines coming into the house. One is working. One is not working. You probably have other things that are 120V that are not working but just don't realize it. Nothing that is 240V (such as the oven or stove elements) will work.
This could be because the main breaker tripped when the power outage occurred. It tripped but not completely.
Reset the main breaker, turn it off then back on. If that does not resolve the problem it is because the breaker at the pole has tripped. Call power company.

Also reset breakers for stove and heat pump.

Yes, however fault could be in master breakers for the building. If fault is in building master breaker you need to have building management reset your breaker. If other residents are experiencing same problem, the problem is at pole.
OOPS: I just realized fromthat you must be Australian or NZ. You have a different electric system than USA. My analysis may or may not be correct. However, you are still correct that the problem is in the power to the unit and not the unit itself.Quote:

That is great news though. I guess a multi meter check would be a good start just to confirm that 240VAC is in fact coming through the outlet.
OK, your system is same as USA, I stand by my first analysis. If resetting your breakers does not correct problem then problem is in building master or at pole.
Yes, a meter should show 120V between one leg and the neutral or ground, 0V between the other leg and neutral or ground, and 0V between the two legs.
If both legs are working the meter will show 240V between the legs. Both legs will show 120V to neutral or ground.

Also just realized we are talking about a stove top and oven only (Canada wouldn't use a heat pump for heating) . Have you reset stove breaker?

Breakers are good within the condo.
It is an electric range (one unit stove and oven combo) not separate units.
