    Serve of summons
I am in another country. I received a writ of summons regarding child custoty complaint by my husband via mail, my mother signed and accepted the letter.
Is that I who should have accepted the letter?
I was given 60 days to respond, while I see that according to Maryland law I should have 90days.
How can I prolong answer period?
How if I want to submit a counter complaint? Is the time frame similar?
How to serve it to my husband sending from a foreign country to the USA?

You can file an answer with the court asking for more time to respond based on your being out of the country. Since your husband has already filed in MD, you would have to file any counter claim there as well.

I would strongly suggest retaining a MD based attorney to act for you.

    Hello C:

You can't fight this by mail.. Given the gravity of the issues, I would never even try. You need to hire a family attorney IN Maryland.
