I am married to a foreign national with no SSN. Is it bad to file as single.
Tax question: I want to file as single because my wife has no SSN and not want to submit the W-7.

If you are married, you can not file as Single.
If you file as married filing separately, you can put NRA "Non Resident Alien" in place of SSN for your spouse.
Or you can file joint return as residents. Your U.S. Tax Return: Filing Status for Married
