    Middle school dating
Ok well I'm not sure if I want to date but I like som1 but I really don't want to kiss but id be OK with like holding hands and sitting by each other, but no real dates. Is it enough if I text him 2? And how do I get past all the awkwardness? Help!

There's no rush for dating. It's OK to be friends. And there's nothing wrong with holding hands or texting. It sounds like you must have a good head on your shoulders to realize you're not ready for kissing or real dates. Crushes are normal. Use this time now to realize it's OK to have awkward moments and practice your conversation skills.

What do you mean you don't want your parents to think you've changed? Do they know you're interested in dating? It's really important to have an open, honest relationship with your parents. Even if it seems like they are being strict, they have your best interests in mind. And sometimes having that life experience and another perspective allows them to see a bigger picture than you can see, especially when it comes to boys.

It's good for your dad to be involved in your dating life. Sure he might tease you, but he also knows what young boys are like and it's good for you to be able to get his input. Middles school is not a good time for any serious commitments. You are too young for real dating. But talking to your parents about your feelings and emotions and relationships is the mature thing to do and will help you to earn their trust and help determine when you are ready to begin dating.

I find middle school the best place to practice your relationship skills because middle school is the "Big Change" area where you start getting pimples and stuff. In relationship skills I don't mean dating though, more like conversation. Maybe flirting a little, learning what and what not to say to a guy. By 10th grade you bight be ready. Remember though, I said MIGHT!
