I'm in the process of putting in a half bath in our basement and purchased a Saniplus toilet and mancerator. The location of this toilet is extremely accessible to the main drain line from my main floor bathroom. The mancerating unit has a 1.5" outlet for venting. Since this is in the basement, where do I vent this too? I've tried researching this and I'm lost. I like to think I'm somewhat handy as I've done everything in the finishing of the bathroom up and rec. room up to the plumbing, at this point, no clue.

Please help.

I don't have an answer for you, but I'm in the same position as you. I just purchased the SaniGrind and plan on putting a bathroom in my basement. I have complete access to the drain and vent stack in the basement. I didn't realize "venting" was so important. Did anyone answer your question or were you able to do the installation? Can I creat a vent and just vent it out the basement window? Or can I just tie into the vent from the basement? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Anthony... does not look like holyz is coming back so let's see if I can help.

First, where is your instruction booklet... Hmmm? Sanipro/sanigrind come with an excellent instruction booklet. YOU WILL want to read these instructions through completely before you begin this project.. I promise it will save you time and aggravation (if you do not have instructions can find them at Saniflo macerating toilets: install a bathroom in the basement or any small space). Click on installation help on left bar.

Second, the vent from the pump should rise straight up off the unit and it should connect into an existing vent so that it is tied in at least 6 inches above the finished height of the lavatory. You will need to vent the tub and the lavatory as well... and yes they can tie into the pump vent.

In your instructions they will present a straight shot of 1.5 inch pvc pipe off the top of the pump and all individual fixture vents (from tub/shower and lavatory) tie back into the pump vent (via an upside down double tee fitting) six inches higher than the finished height of the lavatory.
