For the past month my cat has started acting strangely and its progressivly getting worse.

Initially when I have witnessed it the cat gets a tick(movement)over its rear haunches ant then the tip is its tail starts twitching. All of a sudden the cat will spin roung and grab its tail biting and clawing at it and hissing and mieowing at the tail as if it were in a standoff or fighting with it. This goes on for a period of between 10seconds initially and has been progressively getting longer over time.

The cat appears to be in good health and had no fleas or any other visible mites. It doesn't like going outside .

Any change in behavior requires a visit to a Vet. It could be a variety of things. It could be worms - but I certainly don't recommend running out and buying dewormer based solely on this.
