I am working under the H1B visa status from Oct. 2009 to till the date. My family came to this country in July 2009. Now my wife and 2 kids are living with me. You are requested to let me know how can I file tax return as they are my Dependants?
Also, I want to know whether they can get SS # or any tax id whether my kids are attending school and my wife is not working.

You should list your dependent family members in your tax returns. You can get an IRS ITIN for them for you to complete your tax filings. Check the IRS website to download the from W-7.
