Theft and Fraud under $5000, what's the worst that can happen?
I am being charged with theft and fraud under $5000. The total amount of goods stolen was around $1500. I am an adult with no previous criminal history. I can't afford legal aid as I just manage to pay the bills, and am currently being helped by a student lawyer. He said I might be able to apply for the diversion program where I complete community tasks and upon completion I won't be charged. Do you guys think I can really get into the program? In reality, what do you think I'll face? Will I have to pay back the $1500(I am prepared to do that).
