I own hair salon and have been having problems with not enough hot water. I had the system checked for leaks. I upgraded from a 30 amp breaker to a 40 amp and i bought a new 80 gal. hot water heater. I still run out of hot water in a few hours. There is no way i'm using that much hot water. Help!!

You would have been a perfect candidate for a tankless continueous heater but it's a little later to think of that. Got some questions for you before I can figure out what to do. Tell us more about your new heater, who put it in and what new wiring was done. What is the voltage, brand and model. Most heaters can recover 80-90 gallons per hour, how many wash stations are you running at once. Do you know there the heat setting is on the unit, what is it set at?

Are u using a commercial grade water heater or residential type? With commercial heater it has a better recovery rate than a residential heater because the demand for hot water. Recovery rate is how much a water heater can generate hot water in the 1st hour. U did mention running out of hot water in a few hours.

What is the amperage requirements of the new water heater?
Hopefully it requires 40 amps and wiring was also upgraded. If wiring was not increased in size you have a dangerous situation.
