Spaceship going into the sun - movie title?

Only thing I remember about this movie is that a crew is shooting at some invaders (aliens or bad people, not sure) at the same time their spaceship is flying into the sun. As the ship gets closer to the sun, some shield parts start getting off, until they impact with the sun (or it was a star), and time kind of freezes and camera flies around frozen in time figures.
I think it ends like that, and it may also be a movie/tv series, not sure.
This movie got stuck in my head, and I looked around 500 movies about space and science fiction, but couldn't spot it, to see it from the beginning till the end.
Please somebody help me!
