Tpr valve occasional drips water. I have a well

What is well pump pressure setting? Do you have a check valve between well tank and house?

There are only two reasons for a discharge. They are overtemp and overpressure. When TPR valves age, the spring weakens and they will open below the set pressure. Check temp 125+/-and water pressure 40-60psig and if they are in line, change the TPR.

Brian, there is another reason... called a CLOSED SYSTEM where backflow preventers, pressure regulating valves and check valves create a closed system that won't allow for the expansion that a water heater creates on water and will usually relieve the excess pressure by relieveing it through the T&P valve.

The answer in these "closed system" setups is to install an EXPANSION TANK in the cold water supply... see image.

With that being said, I can't be sure this is the issue for SCHOMA as we need to know if there are check valves or other valves I mentioned above in place in his system.

At a minimum, I would definitely replace the T&P valve, for sure!
