    Can I deduct my canadian mortgage interest on my 1040NR itemized deduction list?
    I am a Canadian working on a P1 Visa in the US. Can I deduct my canadian mortgage interest on my 1040NR itemized deduction list? Or canadian property taxes for that matter?

    I think you can manage to deduct your interest, but not very likely your property taxes.

    In researching. According to publication 519 pg 28. No you can not deduct Mortgage interest or property taxes from Canada on your 1040NR

    Your accountant is WRONG! Mortgage interest (or any other type of interest) CANNOT be deducted on Form 1040NR.
