    In Virginia,if written document witnessed & notarized, can it legally be my will?
    Stste of virginia resident. Divorced 20+yrs,one adult child, some $$ & a house but no 'estate' and I want to be sure child gets all.

    Here's a brief description of the requirements:

    But I do agree with the author of that page. You DO have an estate. Your home alone gives you an estate. So it would pay to consult with an attorney to plan for your estate. There may be other ways to insure your adult child gets everything.
