I'm 42 years old and have never been late. My cycle varies from 21days to 26days. I am 6/7 days late and have done two pregnancy tests which came out negative. Does menapuase start so suddenly? Could I be pregnant?

Two negative tests say you are not pregnant. Menopause usually doesn't start with all periods ceasing, it's more a case of periods becoming irregular or erratic and heavier or lighter than usual. 42 is on the early side for periods to start getting irregular, but it's not impossible. It could be years still before you can stop worrying about contraception.
