How long is nikkah valid?I have heard it expires after 6 months... is that true?

NikaH is valid unless the husband gives talaq, but if the husband is not giving rights to the wife, and has dissappeared without trace, and she is unable to make sabr, then she can ask an imam. If the NikaH was official in a muslim country, then there are law offices she should contact if they can take her case. And Allaah knows best. Salaam. I never heard there`s an expirance date for NikaaH in Sunnah. SubHaan Allaah. This saying is really terrible, and not to be spread. Always ask for evidence, and the evidence is Kitaab and Hadiith SaHiiH, if it is Allaah that you take as your Lord.
