Can I use a hampton bay light kit on a hunter fan?
I hooked it up and the light did not come on. I have a black and white from the light to the black and white wires of the fan. There are many other wires also, so maybe I am not wiring it correctly. I thought if I was getting power, it would work. It is a pull chain light.

Most light kits are interchangeable. At the fan, ready for a light, there should be 3 wires, black, white and blue. Did you see a blue wire connected to the main power in? This wire travels to the light switch and is usually black after the switch. Look at the wires feeding the fan and let us know what you see.

So you are doing this with no remote, right? You want the fan and the light to be on/off always together, is that what you want?
