The room is next to the bathroom and central heating unit but the smell doesn't seem to be coming from either of them. What should I do and is this dangerous?

I don't know but could it be coming from under the home?
Hi Jd3276...
It may not be coming from the central heating unit itself, but is the odor coming out the heating air duct? Check for that and if you determine that the issue is in the duct system you will want to go to the central heating furnace and check to make sure that the CONDENSATE PUMP (if present) is working properly (pumping water out). If the condensate pump isn't working then water can collect and begin to smell and can be distributed to a close vent, so check the unit and then pop back with more information, OK?
