    Feeding
I have to work early in the mornings from 5am until 2pm. Should I feed my puppy before I leave for work?

If you feed it it will have to go to the bathroom.

Nine hours is a long time for a puppy. Does someone come to your home to let the dog out during your work hours?

It was my boyfriend here with us, but it had to leave on a trip so it is just me and chase until he comes back. I just do not want him to be hungry all day.

Then feed him, provide him with a place to "bathroom" and don't be upset when you come home and he's urinated and defacated in the house.

We have been working with him a lot with his crate training. So at night when he sleep he doesn't potty in the crate, we take him out first thing in the morning. I am going to wake up 30min earlier so I can take him out and let him run around.

So this will be the first time he will be left alone that long.

As Judy said, he will probably not be able to hold it all day. Feed him and make sure he gets plenty of exercise before you leave. Be understanding that a young puppy is not able to hold it that long. Hopefully it won't be long until your boyfriend returns.
