Cramping on the right side at 5 1/2 weeks pregnant. Ectopic pregnancy?
I am 5 1/2 weeks pregnant and having cramps on my right side most of the day. It feels like when I'm ovulating, kind of a dull ache. I had a miscarriage last year at 8 weeks so I'm a little nervous this time around. I don't want this to be an ectopic pregnancy. I will have my 1st ultrasound on Tuesday.

Some cramping can be normal in early pregnancy. Many women say it feels similar to light menstrual cramping. Is it constant or do you notice it off and on throughout the day?

Often an ectopic wouldn't be noticed just yet, but if it becomes more severe, and/or you start to have any bleeding or other unusual symptoms, give your doctor a call before Tuesday.

Thank you for your help. My ultrasound went well. It measured 2.3 mm and the heartbeat is 95.
