This is in the state of California.

The only 'right' you have is the right to sue, but it doesn't mean you will win. You really need to pay a lawyer to contest a will.

The written Will supersedes anything and everything else, including verbal instructions - unfortunately.

A Will contest would waste your time and money. Wills are almost impossible to break.

Yes, what he wants or what he said, means nothing, he needed to have changed the will. The old will will stand in court

Example, My mom had an appointment for her attorney to come to her home to sign a new will. She died that night before, the attorney was the one who found her dead .
*** yes some attorneys make house calls***
So her old will stands, I lost 1000's over it, nothing I could do
