The biological father does have rights... and can prevent your boyfriend from adopting them.

Same with the birth Certificate... your boyfriend wasn't the father.

However, if I am not mistaken... his obligation to pay child support would end with the adoption. That might be the incentive he needs since you said he has nothing to do with her.

But it really helps to know where you live... as in Country and state... laws vary as do rights.
