    Hi Burginij...

Are the black particles isolated only to the bathtub faucet? If so, my first thought is that the washers/orings inside the faucet or the shutoffs for the faucet are deteriorating and breaking apart and causing your issue.

Here, you would disassemble the faucet, purge the lines without the parts in place to clear them clean, inspect the parts for missing/deteriorating pieces and then reassemble and see if things improve.

You may also need to pull the shutoffs going to this faucet (if present behind the wall via an access panel) and repeat this cleaning.

Also, if there are flexible hoses going to the faucet then these could also be breaking down and would need to be replaced.

Finally, any chance you can isolate this exclusively to the HOT water... let me know.

Otherwise, if this is a whole house issue I have to wonder first if you have a charcoal filter inline anywhere and if so, I would guess that the filter has ruptured and is letting particles into the main supply.

Black water particals from cold water [well] you can find black grit in pipes and toilet tank too... Is usually sulfer deposit. Harmless but bad none the less. Water softener helps a great deal . However.. stuff still comes periodicaly from hot water .
