I wish to volunteer as a teaching assistant at a local school or community college.
1. How do I approach the school or community college? Where can I find the volunteer opportunities?
2. Do I need a certification or previous experience for volunteering as teacher assistant?

1. Just call and ask what volunteer opportunities they have. 2. Would be nice but not a requirement. Many elementary schools have volunteers who do photocopying, listen to students read, act as crossing guards, etc...
