    Getting unpaid rent
    Is the small claims to get your rent money back? Im getting ready to file a UD and they are currently 2 months behind plus late fees. Rent is 800 per month late fees being 50 per late charge total so far is 1,700. Should I do a Small claims for 2,550

    First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

    Yes Small Claims courts can be used to recover unpaid rental once evicted. But it may not be necessary. Its possible to get a judgment fro unpaid rent as part of the eviction order. It all depends on the way the courts work in your area. I would consult a local real estate attorney.
