I stumbled across this site. I don't know if you can help me or not. I am trying to find the name a movie I saw when I was a kid. No matter how hard I look, I can't find it!

The movie was in color. I saw it on TV in the 70s, I think. I was just a kid at the time. The movie scared me, though. It was about a ufo that lands on or near a beach, I believe. The nearby town is then viciously attacked by the aliens. The aliens were not humanoid but were like energy or lightning or something. There was nothing anyone could do to stop them. I kind of remember the ending where the UFO leaves but then there is a report of other similar attacks, possibly like a voice-over or something.

Did I dream this movie up or is it real? I cannot find any reference to it anywhere. And, of course, I don't remember what it was called.
