Forget about dating him. He's right, you are too young to be going out with a 16 year old, especially a 16 year old who does pot and casual sex.

It's legal, but you might just give it a bit more time. Don't push it. It's not fair, but most people would see it as odd for a highschooler to date a middleschooler. Stay friends, ask him out when you get to high school.

It's legal to date somepone at the age of 13 but what he's saying is that there is no point until your old enough, which is pretty slimy in my opinion because that's all he would want you for, I say don't bother because he is a pothead and will waste your time and you'll start taking drugs too, instead go out and have fun with your friends because that's what's being 13's all about, not having sex.

He does drugs so I doubt the question of how legal it would be to date a younger girl really matters. He is trying to be nice and let you down easy. You may have a crush on him, but to him you may be a little a sister.

Accept him as an older brother whose footsteps you should not be following and make more friends your own age. Give yourself a chance to have fun getting to know how to communicate with others before you try the whole 'girlfriend/boyfriend' thing.

It is legal to date... but you ARE what you hang out with so ask yourself.. "Do i want to be like him?".. "Do i want to smoke pot and have casual sex at age 16?"... "Why would a sophomore or junior hang out with a middle schooler??" I am in eight grade so around if not your grade so I'm going to say its sketchy and I would tell him or yourself to go get someone in your grade to date! Your decision.
