Can I go after ex for back child support even though he's on welfare and in a nursing
Ex is $20000 behind is child support.Has never paid a dime and hid for many years so they couldn't find him to get the money he owed. Now he's 62 and in a nursing home and on welfare. I don't know if the state applied for SS on his behalf or not. I want to get that back support.

How many years old is it since the child turned 18 and was no longer to get support, Most states have some limit of SOL on how long you can go back and collect.

Also if he is in a nursing hom and on welfare, he has no money and you could not collect anyway.

I was wondering if the nursing home applied for SS on his behalf. If they did I want part of that. My sons are both adults now. He hid for many years so the support unit could not find him. After he went into the nursing home they located him. I have never signed off for the support order to be closed. He's been in the home since 1997. I do know I can't go after the small amount he gets each month from medicade but I need to know if I can attach his SS if he is getting it.
