I mean every day I walk around on the tile in my house while wearing socks, my dad says to wear slippers because walking around all this tile isn't good for my feet.

Can doing this be bad for my feet at all eventually?

Why not ask him what he means.

I would tell my kids to put on slippers or shoes because tile floors and socks don't work together well -- the kids could slip and fall.

The "new" Chicago Public Library has marble floors with lots of complaints from librarians about tired, sore feet at the end of the day.

I walk around sockfeet all the time at home (and yes, we do have tiles), I have no problems. I think this is because dad doesn't want your feet to get smelly. I'm sure there can't be anything there to hurt you... except maybe when people leave stuff like nails all over the floor. :-o That would hurt.
