I don't remember that much about this show/movie, but I remember there is one main actor who was in his 20s or so, but I think his character was supposed to be really young (elementary school age). A lot of things in his room were gray-colored. The boy and his room have conversations, and when this happens sometimes the items in the room like radios and drawers and things move and light up. There are also songs, and I think in one of them he is flying through space. Also, I don't know why I remember this, but at one point someone says "mashed potatoes" in a really strange voice. And also, I think part of the show is kind of scary.

Was it Bodger and Badger. ('Everybody knows Bodger loves MASHED POTATO')..?
