In U.S. you do not get refund of sales tax.

Keep in mind that the sales tax as charged by the state or municipality and is NOT a federal tax. It's also not a Value Aded Tax (VAT) like they have in Europe. Therefore there is no federal provision for refunding sales tax to international visitors. However, certain states may in fact offer such a program - the state of Lousiana is one. See: Louisiana Tax Free Shopping To take advantage you have to get a voucher from the merchant at the time of purchase which you then can redeem at the airport in New Orleans when you leave. I am not aware of any equivalent proram for visitors to Georgia. But next time keep in mind that you can usuallly avoid sales tax altogether if you have the item(s) shipped out of state rather than carrying them yourself.
