Well I have a new dog that was in a horrible area
I took him from one of these people, that let the dog sleep in the basement, it didn't know what snow even was .
They say it's a year old, half pit and half boxer.
It's pretty big for his age, but his teeth still coming in .
He's crying as we speak, and I just got him today, how would I make him love me?

First you'd take him to a Vet to make sure his shots are up to date and he's healthy.

Adopting a dog that has been neglected or abused is a long, sometimes difficult, road to walk. He will learn to love you as he comes to depend on you, trust you. It comes with time and gentle treatment.

I don't know that having a dog sleep in a basement is neglect or cruelty. If he never saw snow, does that mean he never went outside?

The Vet will also tell you how old he is.

How did he come to your attention? I'll bet it's a good story.

Pat him, rub his belly, use crooning sweet talk, say his name over and over along with good dog.
Teach him to sit and praise him and give him a tiny treat.
Teach him 'walk' and such by getting his leash and asking if he wants to go and pat him constantly. Throw balls and snowballs when he can be off the leash.
Give him time to love you, about a few weeks.
Keep him water bowl filled and give him a good quality kibble mixed with a little canned.

Talk to him:) Keep him comfy, he will love you when he knows you love him. It's give and take.

He will love you on his own, as long as you treat him right. I do agree with the above poster, you need to take him to the vet ASAP. At one his adult teeth should have already come in.

If she was kept in the basement, she no undoubtedly has worms or other parasites.

She will realize how lucky she is that you rescued her, but remember rescues can be a lot of work, Especially a one year old dog who doesn't sound to be housebroken. Take a look around the dog forum here, you will find loads of information on socializing her as well as house breaking her.

Good luck! Thank you so much for choosing to rescue this dog!
