I have a GEside by side refrigerator. Water stopped flowing from spout. Tap water bad
I have a GE side by side (5 yrs old) Mod #GSS22SGRE SS and the water spouts been working fine until 4 days ago. It just stopped and hasn't worked since. When I ask for ice, great, but when I ask for water, nothing. I've changed the filter cause that's what the guy at Lowe's told me it was and still nothing. I've checked the line for kinks and nothing. I hear the motor working, but still no water and there are no leaks. Help, tap water taste bad here. Thanks

Probably water was freezing in the water line near spout. I got the same problem few weeks ago. I turned off power in freezer, used portable heater to warm up the area at water spout for about 15 minutes. Then using the weed eater string insert inside the water spout to clear the ice. At first, you might be able to insert the string up about 1 or 2 inches. Just keep put on pressure moving the string in and out for few minutes. Eventually you will clear the ice. Then weed eater string will be able to go deep inside the water line for few feet.
After clearing the ice in water line, you might need to reset the freezing level of freezer to number 2 only. That was the way I fixed my GE waterline freezing few weeks ago. It's still OK so far.
