    Knocking noise in the ceiling
We live in condo on the first floor of a 3 floor building. At night we hear knoching/tapping noise in our ceiling right above our bedrooms. The noise lasts a couple of seconds, but comes back every few minutes. Our neighbors above us hear it on their floor, but not as loud as we are. The people on top of us or we do not use water/air conditioner or heater at night. What makes this noise? We are frustrated. Do we need to call a plumber, electrician or who? Our association just said that there are no pipes on our ceiling and said that we need to talk to our neighbors. Please help if you know anything about it.Thanks.

It can be just about anything... Hard to tell when there are no pipes. Are you sure the noise is directly above the bedroom ? It can be transferring from an appliance, it can be vibration or perhaps a clicking noise generated by some electronic device. You have to do some more thorough investigation...
