Hello,
I am wondering, I purchased two website's over the internet by a business out of Tempe, Arizona, two
Days later they called convicing me to buy advertising for these websites. Well, I did and it cost me $6,500.00 for this advertising program later to figure out they are scammers. I disputed it within the time limit of my charge card and they got back to me insisiting I have to pay this. How do I convince them that this is a scam and what can I do about paying the bill, I have excellent credit to let this go to a collection agency. What are your pointers in dealing with this. I know I ok'ed the charge, but did not know, I was being scammed by a phone call. Please help. Thank-You

Or did they just over charge you for services you got ?

Have you brought a law suit against the Arizona firm ?
Have you filed a police report for fraud ?

Since you haven't told us the nature of the alleged scam its hard for us to advise. Why reason did your credit card company give for negating the dispute?

The business did build two websites and ininatated an advertising program where I could go in and check my staus of people going to my websites,but they promised me $30,000.00 a year on m,aking a profit from these website, I writtena and talked to the so-called president of the company for written guarantees of his company, he sends nothing, furter more have not received a red cent from them and this wa started back in July.How do I know they are not fake websites and the advertising program is a hoax. He has shown me nothing for the $6,500.00 I paid him. I did file a complaint to the Arizona Attorney General and go no where, but keeping it on file and also with the Frederal Trade Commissions. Stll bewildered, spent this money and have nothing in return. Going to a lawyer to see what would be best to do. Thank-you for your interest and also your help.

As for whether the websites were built, all you have to do is enter the URLs to confirm that. You can also go to netsol.com and use the WhoIs to see who those domains are registered to. As to guaranteeing $30K a year income, I have a bridge in Brooklyn you may be interested in. No way they can make such a guarantee and if you believed them you were being extremely naïve.

What you have a right to is a detailed description of the work they did for you. Then you are better able to judge whether that work was worth what was paid.

Hi Scott,
I decided to dispute the charge because I was not receing anything, the president of the company told me he was running an advertising program for a full year for me and a management program where I could check the staus of my websites. By the way the websites cost me an extra $300.00. I was to receive a check in the mail from people going to my websites, which are a casino and a pharmacy. They also had to purchase from the websites that is where I make my money. When the called they were so convicing the more advertising I bought the better my traffic would be. It ran up to $6,500.00. I have received nothing and this all took place back in July of 2006. But yet I was to receive at lease $30,000.00 a year. On Sept. 20, 2006, the president called me to tell me a check was in the mail or me. To this day Jan. 13,2007 have not received one penny. Would you say this is a scam? I can give you the website address if you want. I hope I cleard your question. Thank-you for helping me out. Any other suggestions. My credit card says I have to pay. They have no resource for getting their money back.

Thank-you Scott, I have called the websites and they have no information on me,I even gave them a code that was supplied from the business and still nothing on me being an affiliate. If I am to be an affiliate they have to know me in order to pay me for selling for them. I will check out where you say and see what that says, there is websites there but who is to say they are mine?

Hi Scott,
The credit card said I must check out the merchant that I am purchasing from before I make a decision. I guess I was eager to make a decision, but I thought that they were a legit company and I really have no way of finding that out for sure. They were very convicing and promised it would make me money. But to this day I have nothing and since I disputed it with my charge he has removed me from the internet, that is the advertising part and the management system he was supposed to run that for a full year. I am just so upset with this whole situation, I guess you learn by your mistakes, but this one is a big one. I don't know what else to do. Thanks for your help and concern. Does anyone have any more suggestions?

That's bull! One of the reasons to use credit cards is for just this type of fraud. There are a number of reasons a card issuer can refuse to honor a protest, but being foolish ain't one of them. If you can prove that you didn't get the services promised then you they should reverse the charge.

This company actually printed out a copy of the statistics and management system and when I disputed the pres. Sent them that, so I guess that proved to the cc that it was legit. I am fit to be tied, don't know what to do.

See, that's a different story. You really need to give us the true facts if you expect us to help.

But I'm not sure just what more help we can give.

One of the things that bothered me is that you stated the sites were a "pharmacy and a casino". Did you choose these sites? Do you have ANY idea what's involved in running sites like those? You just don't put up a site and sell drugs. There is a lot of licensing involved as well as contacts with pharmaceutical companies. As for a casino, there are a lot of legalities involved there.

I'm beginning to see here that you went into this with total blinders on. It seems you had no idea what you were doing or what was involved in what you treid to do. That may be why someone from the CC carrier made that comment.

Yes, after I thought about it it I began to wonder, if they are legal or not. According to this company they told me they were 8 billion a year industries. A red flag should have went up then They also told me they were legal in the US. I feel they put these sites up as fake and an advertising program they probably run for every sucker(like me) and just get all the money you paid for it and tell everyone involved they are running and a check is in the mail ffor you. Can this be possible that they run fake wesites and advertising programs. Since I know you know a lot abot computers.I thought of taking them to court, but I am in PA and they are in Arizona. It would probably cost a lot more than my charge card. They are on rip-offs bad business bureau 14 times and the last one was just recently. I notified the attorney general at Arizonia and the Federal Trade Commission and he sends those papers to them also. Saying he done nothing wrong. To me this guyis a real con-artist. I can't even load the site. I do think you need an atty. With all the complaints and other things you might have a case, but I would appeal to the CC company as well. I think your best chance of getting your money back is through them.

But I'm afraid to say that I doubt if you will get anything back. I hate to say it but I have to. A guy like that gets his victims from people who are either extremely gullible or not so concerned about legalities. I guarantee you will be a lot more careful in the future.

Thank-you Scott, I know I will be much more careful in the future, never, never again. I don't know how to appeal the credit card company. I did dispute it in the time allowed and they told me they had no other resources to get the money back, that I could contact the merchant myself. He Mr. Bill Todd rebutted the charges and told them I was very rude and I was not, I was looking out for my own self by trying to get a written guarantee and information on how the company works.
I wonder why you can't load it? I thought it was just me on my computer, I thought maybe he blocked me out completely. If you are interested you may go to rip-offs bad businessbureau.com and see the latest scam he has done, type in Capital Business Group. 14 different people have wrote in about him and all are the same as my case. The same two websites only you get to name them yourself. The casino and the Pharmacy. Everyone there has the same two. I went on Yahoo and they found the site for me and it did come up. Do you have other credit cards? At this point, I would suggest that you inform your CC company that you are convinced that this merchant is running a scam, give all the details we have discussed. Note the illegality of a casino site and the fact that he asked for no licensing onfo for a pharmacy. Pay off any balance you owe besides the $6500 and refuse to pay that. Let them sue you for the balance. When they do, go into court armed with all the facts you can find about this guy's scams.

I don't know if you will win, but I think you have a good shot.

I would also monitor your credit reports and, as soon as they report it, file a dispute with the credit bureaus.

I must confess that I too got taken by this same company known as CAPBIZGROUP. I was offered an on-line pharmacy business offer. I invested money on the premise that I would make enough money to pay off the credit card within 60 days.
After the investment, I never heard from them. I e-mailed them, tried to call them, sent them certified letters, all to no avail. They are dishonest and I feel pretty stupid about falling for their sales pitch. I even checked them out with the BBB before I invested and they had no bad records.
