I was recently on birth control but I have a habit of forgetting to take the pill. I would sometimes go 3 days straight then on the 4th day continue taking it. Well last week well 9 days ago, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I had missed 3 or 4 days of pill. Before we had sex I took a pill. I didn't take any more pills after. I have done this before where I take a pill right before sex and missed 3 or 4 days before that. Right now my period is 3 days late but I'm thinking maybe its because I haven't been taking the pill correctly. Is there a possible way I could be pregnant. There are no symptoms but its too early to tell because it happened at the end of last week.

Of course it's possible you are pregnant. For the risk of pregnancy to be decreased, you have to take the pill exactly as prescribed. Preferably at the same time every day.

Since you aren't taking the pill correctly, your risk of pregnancy has increased almost to a point of not being protected at all.

If you can't remember to take the pill every day, have you considered an alternative method of birth control?

Yea I considered it. I was just wondering. Is it too early to take a test? And I haven't had any symptoms just delay of period

Delay of period is the first symptom of pregnancy. You could take a test, but be sure to use first morning urine.

Ok thank you. I was going to wait until I actually have more symptoms or if period will come. A delay of period can be because of me missing the pills and stop taking it right?
