    Husband adoption
I live in Wisconsin is it possible for my husband to adopt my daughter, her biological father has not been around for years, I signed off his child support 2 years ago and he could care less it seems, I have attempted through multiple family members to contact him with no success,What do I do?

It is certainly possible. You will have to file an adoption petition in your local Family Court. If you cannot get the bio father to sign an agreement to the adoption you will have to prove you made a good faith effort to get him to sign.

I would strongly recommend that your first step be to consult with an attorney and hire one to prepare the paperwork for you.

Thank you, I will do this indeed, is it possible to change her name without this first?

No, the birth certificate is a legal document. To change it requires a court order.

However, if she wants to start using your husband's name in school etc, she can do that, except where her full legal name is required.
