Kenmore gas dryer shuts off (pulser timer keeps clicking; burning plastic smell)
Hello all,
I have a Kenmore 90 ser. Gas dryer (model 110769932691)that shuts off after a few minutes. I originally thought the timer was bad because I smelled burning wires from it after shut off. I replaced that and no luck. I now notice that the pulser timer continuously ticks (and sometimes in the timer's 'off' position). I was going to replace the pulser timer because I still smell burning wires. I now think the smell is coming from inside the dryer. On top of that, I noticed that after a minute or so, the sound of the dryer motor seems to kick up a notch and produces a different pitched sound (higher and louder) after a couple 'clicks'. I am assuming it is the motor doing that unless it is the gears? Also, the burning smell is not fabric, it is definitely plastic/metal smelling. Any suggestions on what I could do next would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to buy another part I don't need. Thanks in advance.
