Can I use kerosene or disel?
What does your furnace manual say? At the very least, Kerosene has about half the BTU content #2 heating oil has for the same volume. Meaning you burn nearly twice as much for the same amount of heat... and its lower viscosity may present a problem with some furnaces.
Off road diesel ( if you can get it) is essentually the same as #2 heating oil in a pinch. It might have some kero blended in for anti-jell reasons but you won't notice much difference and its cheaper than the undyed regular diesel fuel if it comes down to heating your house or not while you wait for a delivery.
