GE Gas Furnace, I have no air flow in vents.
I have a GE Natural Gas Furnace installed in 1977, it is now 34 years old and I really do not want to part with it now. But, this year we started that the furnace would not turn off by itself. We have the limit switch replaced, it still would not cut off, so we replaced the thermastate, and it now shuts off. Working like new except, now there is no air flow coming out of the vents, to touch a vent you feel the heat trying to come out and it is very hot, but just has no air flow, in all the vents. We checked all the vents, all air filters are new. Motor is blowing in the furnace, and you can feel the air blowing, but not in the vents. Help.

Have never known anyone with such a close relationship with their furnace. After 34 years it would seem you should know all there is to know about your furnace. Maybe when the time arrives that it has to be replaced you should put it to the side . I personally would be getting very worried about one that old. 34 years is way past the comfy zone of a gas furnace, they will turn on you when you least expect it. You`ll wake up in the middle of a very cold Saturday night with a dead furnace and knowway to get it replaced till Monday

I`m sorry I just feel ornary,, but seriously It is old, and should be inspected by a pro for repair and also a safety check
