As an emplopyee of a pharmacy & I know that they don't shred any personal information & they don't shred information w/the patients name drug name sig basically nothing is shreded. Its just tossed into the dumpster where bums have been known to dig in. this is a hippa violation yes?

If they are putting papers into the trash, that contain patient names and the drugs they are talking , yes that is a violation.

If you do the same thing, you are also guilty of doing it also.
If and when you know better you are obligated to follow the laws. If this is a chain, you are even required to report it to the corporation department over this.

Have you notified the pharmacy that this is a violation.
