Do I need take RH (-) shot before I get pregnant?
I had a baby almost 2 years ago. First time I had a baby then miscarriage so the Dr went ahead gave me the shot of Rhogam shot(sp) after I got miscarriage. After that I got pregnant second time and it was successful. A healthy baby! :)
Now, We are trying for a second but I wasn't sure if I was suppose to have a shot before trying again or after I get pregnant? I don't want to have another miscarriage if that I was suppose to get a shot? Let me know. Thanks.

The person to ask, the person familiar with the circumstances and your health is your Physician.

Most likely you had a rhogam shot after the birth of your baby. This would protect you to get pregnant now.

You will then have another rhogam shot around the 26th or 28th week of pregnancy.

If you are in doubt that you had one after the birth of your last baby, contact your OB and have him/her check your records.

I am a nursing student and from what I just learned this past semester... You are to get a dose of RoGAM the 28th week of pregnancy. Then you get another one after the baby is born.

Yes I took the shot at 28th weeks of pregnant and also took the shot after the delivered my baby. So,you're saying that Rhogam are still in my body for a long term until Im ready for a second baby?

Yes, the rhogam is still in your body. This is the reason it is given to you after delivery of your last baby. You don't need another one now.

The shot only stays in your body for 12 weeks. I have the same problem I have yet to become pregnant. I had a miscarriage over a year ago and I am afraid that I will have another miscarriage.
