    Help?
I'm 17 and weigh 121, I took a home pregnancy test 5 days before my missed period it came out positive, my mom keeps saying its probably a false positive, I know they are not really common but what do I do? Do I re-test, go to a doctor or what?

Take another test, if it shows positive, go to the doctor and confirm.

False positives aren't as rare as you think. False negatives are much more common.

Like Chuck said, retest, use first morning urine, or go see your doctor for a blood test.

Re-test and be sure to follow the directions exactly, especially in regard to when you read the test.

If you read the test after the time stated, sometimes what appears to be a faint positive will show up. The test would be invalid as it was not read in the stated time frame.
