I lost 85 lbs in a year so maybe I can help.

First, THROW AWAY THE DIET PILLS!! YOU DO NOT NEED THEM!!

Second, take a look at what you are eating and how much of it you eat. If you eat a lot, cut back on the amount you eat. Eat things that are healthier for you. But don't starve yourself. If you need a snack, snack on fruits and vegetables.

    Stay away from the following:
    1) Soft drinks
    2) Ice Cream
    3) Pizza
    4) Fast food
    5) Fried food

The biggest dieting secret: Drink a lot a water. A gallon a day at least. It will flush you out plus suppess your appitite.

Exercise if you can. Even a 20 minute walk is exercise.

I did this and dropped 20 lbs in the first month. I was 19 years old at the time. I'm not saying you will drop 20 lbs like that but I was obese. Hope this helps. It will be hard at first but you can do it.

It's not about dieting. It's more about a lifestyle change.

I'll second what the last person said. Eating healthy is important because your body definitely needs the fuel, but you want to make sure this fuel comes from the right sources.

You should multiply your current weight by 15 to determine how many calories you need daily to remain at your current weight. When you eat more than this, you gain weight. When you eat less you lose weight.

Once you determine this number, simply consuming less than this number of calories will result in weight loss. Also, as frustrating as it may be, you should not attempt to lose more than a pound or two a week. So I would not suggest that you subtract any more than 400 calories from your current calorie intake.

As admiralsfan suggested, simply cutting out the soft drinks and fast food will probably accomplish this goal.

It always helps of course to add some cardio 3 times a week or so as well.
