Heat Pump: After using heat, A/C compressor will not start
I have a Lennox Heat Pump/ AC unit installed in my home that is less than one year old. I live in south Louisiana so we go from hot to cold regularly in outside temperature. After I run the heat pump, I turn the switch to off for a while and then move to cool on the days that we need ac. The fan in the attic will turn on but the outside compressor will not start. I have waited hours and it will never start. The thermostat is set to a proper temperature that will cause it to run. If I go outside to my main breaker panel and kill the AC/heat pump breaker, the unit I guess must "reset" itself or something because after five minutes or so the AC will come on and be functioning normally. It does this after every time I use the heat setting. Any suggestions? This is my second heatpump in 6 years, so I have very little confidence in my AC repairman.

    Thanks in advance,
    Scott
