I live in Canada and recently applied for a job with an airline that requires security clearance and I have a lot of unpaid tickets (approx 10k$), will this prevent me from obtaining clearance? Thanks in advance

Yeah... it shows you are irresponsible by not paying them... and will not make you look good. And $10K makes you seriously irresponsible, and not just appear to be.

Yes, and it most likely will, this is a serious issue on a clearance. First they are debts , and they are unpaid with no plan in place to pay them.

If you had a written plan, that they ( people you owe the ticket money to, for repaymnt they may OK.
