I own a house in TX and I owe a lot of credit card debt that I can not pay now due to becoming disabled. Can a creditor attach a lien to my property? I did not use the house as collateral.

Creditor might not... but the court can at their request once they win a judgement.
How do I know if a lien has been placed on the property?
County property office where deeds are recorded is a good place to start. But if you haven't been taken to court yet... they can't even attempt to garnish or put liens on anything.
If you try to sell the house they will go after that till then just stay there forever and you won't have a problem only if you sell or pass it to someone else you will have lien issues till then let it slide you will be OK...
p.s look at non secured debt vrs secured debt in Google you will be amazed!!
Unsecured debts that go into default can and are converted via writs of garnishment by the courts every day.
They can come after you bank accounts.. etc... over what started as a unsecured debt, and they do it every day. BUT they need the court to do it. It can't occur in the absence of a judgment being awarded to them. ANd once they have that... it takes little to get the writ of Garnishment issued by the court.
You can't simply walk away from your debts like so many people think.
