I have a five dollar bill with red onit from 19I would like to no if it is real62.
No one makes counterfeit $5. Too much effort for $5. Spend it.
I collect coins and some currency. This probably is a real five dollar bill that is a U.S. Note. Today's currency has a green seal on it designating it is a Federal Reserve Note, meaning that is is back by the Federal Reserve system. Back in the early 1900's to about 1962 there were also notes with a red seal back by the U.S Treasury. The five dollar bill's value is determined mainly by condition of the note and issue of series. It is advisable to contact a currency dealer for an accurate valuation.
Also there are bills with a blue seal which were back by silver, called Silver Certificates, and one with yellow or gold seals which were backed by gold, called Gold Certificates.
Hope this helps...
